Gen. Clark does PT with the Prep CC's

During Basic Military Training (BMT) the mornings start early with physical traing (PT) and all Prep CC's are required to participate.  Getting some good exercise is a great way to start the morning and to build up an appetite for breakfast!

And what better way to get motivated to do well at morning PT than to have USAFA Superintendent Lt. Gen Clark join you! Gen. Clark was a Prep School Candidate himself and then a graduate of the Air Force Academy in the Class of 1986.  Gen. Clark visits the Prep School often and is a true motivator for the Prep CC's and a true example of what one can accomplish with the right attitude and mind set.

The first several days of PT are focused on exercises that will help the CC's get in shape for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) that they will be taking towards the end of BMT.  The PFT consists of pull-ups, standing jump, sit-ups, push-ups and a 600 yard run.  This a requirement for all Prep CC's as well as the Basic Cadets at the Academy and one that is taken each semester.

While they will be performing PT each morning, we will not be covering it every day. Although there will be plenty of PT coverage since it is one of the few events we are able to photograph during BMT.  Due to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Prep School following CDC Covid guidelines, WebGuy is still limited on what events we can cover.  The coverage will seem repetitive between PT and Drill, but those are the two main events we will be covering due to the majority of their BMT training being more academic and taking place indoors.  They will have instruction in areas such as Profession of Arms, Reporting procedures, Air Force History, and Airmanship and Core Values to name a few.  We will do our best to cover as many events as we can within regulations and guidelines.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all make our way through this year's BMT!
