Stanley Canyon Hike

Hey Familes!

It's finally Friday!  You know what that means!  I'm sure you have been counting the days.  No more colored hats after tomorrow.  How will you ever find them in our photos, lol.

So, today was the hike to Stanley Canyon Reservoir.  There were lots of smiling faces.  Unfortunately the reservoir has been drained temporarily, so it wasn't as fun as in past years, when the basics got to go swimming.  Still it was a beautiful morning for it.

Here are a few pictures.  The rest are up in the the BMT gallery.  Speaking of that.  After tomorrow's coverage there will be no more new photos going into that gallery.  As the year progresses we will be adding new galleries by subject to make your photo search easier.  By the end of the year the page will look like this.

Ok, here are a few photos from the hike.

Tomorrow we will have all the BMT Graduation events.  Concluding remarks will begin about  9:30ish on Black Field after the march and end about 10:30am and may include the Wings of Blue depending on the weather.  DoD card holders can observe the remarks from the bleachers if they have access with the following understanding.  They MAY NOT interact with the CC's at any time and the CC's (Cadet Candidates) will not be released from training to meet with them.

As I said a couple of days ago, the Preps will get their phones back at some point after graduation.  They should be able to keep them for safety purposes from then on, but again, their usage will be closely regulated in the beginning.  They will get a full briefing about what they can and cannot do.  Please do yourself and  them a favor and respect the rules as they are announced.

BMT coverage is almost at an end, but now we begin our coverage for the Academic Year.  There will be so much more to see.  We will be telling you more about that in the next few days.   Just don't think you are finishing "WebGuying".   You'll just visiting us a bit more casually.

Now, to my final point.  Actually, this is not only my final point, it is also my final blog entry (for this summer).  I began meeting and speaking with many of you starting with your Appointee send-offs around the country in May and June.  It has been my honor and pleasure to visit with you via this blog every evening.  I hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

Now, that doesn't mean that the blogging will stop.  On the contrary, we are just getting started.   I will still be putting in my two cents from time to time, but the main blogging responsibility will once again revert to WebHatter who has been your host on our Facebook page plus the Summary Sunday.  She also leads the day-to-day WebGuy program all year round.  You will really come to love her.  She takes all the Birthday Dinner photos.   She will have the Con starting tomorrow and you are in good hands.

I am sneaking off on a Caribbean Cruise with my family tomorrow, so I will miss BMT graduation, but  I'll be back rested and probably sunburned for Parent's Weekend.

It goes without saying that none of this magic could happen without the talent and countless hours put in by the entire WebGuy Team.  So, here's to  Kelsey, Karina, Jason, Kaden, Tristan, Kayla, Fran, & Toby, and yours truly.  I tried to get them to pose for a group shot, but they all prefer to be behind the camera rather than in front of it.

Ok, that's it for me.  Check back tomorrow for more more coverage.  Have a great evening and I'll see you at Parent's Weekend!
