Christmas Lunch Provided by Staff and December and January Prep Birthday Dinner
Last month we attended the Christmas Lunch for Preppies served by the Prep Staff as well as the Birthday Dinner last month for Preppies with December birthdays and we also stopped by for the January Birthday Dinner last night. As with every month the Preppies were treated to a dinner by the High Country Inn Dining Facility (DFAC) last night.
Christmas Staff provided Lunch Highlights
Facility manager, Mr. Luciano Moya makes sure that every student gets a birthday dinner. Even cadet candidates whose birthdays do not fall during the prep academic year between August 1 and April 30, still get their dinner. May-July birthdays get their dinner in August. No one is missed.
Each of the Preppies is served by the DFAC staff. Dinner includes a green salad, choice of steak or chicken cordon bleu, dinner rolls, and the non-alcoholic beverage of their choice. Dessert is cake and ice cream. The ice cream is always provided by Chef Jeff who pays for it out of his own pocket each month.
The December & January Birthday Cakes
Following military tradition, the cake is cut with a cadet sabre by the oldest and youngest C/Cs present.

The Commander of the Prep School Col. Szybist, always stops by during the dinner to personally wish each of the Preppies Happy Birthday as well as some of the Prep Staff. After they are served the cake; the Prep Staff, the DFAC Staff and the Preppies who are there for dinner will all sing Happy Birthday to the ones celebrating.
