Prep I-Day Preview 2019

Hello Prep Families,

Tomorrow is the big day.  As I write this blog, most of the 240 Appointees from all over the country have arrived.  I was at the Colorado Springs Airport this morning to catch a few of the arrivals.

Later in the afternoon, I dropped by the Prep School to see the final preparations.  The staff were busy getting final briefings.  I was excited to see many familiar faces.  All 26 of the USAFA Cadre were Preppies in the Prep School Class of 2016.  Your Basics will be trained by cadets who have walked many miles in their shoes.  I remember them on their I-Day 4 years ago.  Now the circle is complete.

This blog entry is a preview of some of what's to come tomorrow.  Everything is quiet now, but come about 7:00am the pace will pick up dramatically.  Before leaving the Academy this afternoon,  I stopped by the Community Center where Appointees and their families will stop first in the morning. Now it looks like this...

Tomorrow it will look like this...

Everything is ready.  All that is left is to begin. We will be there to cover it all.  See you in the morning!
