0600 Push-Up Challenge

The idea originated from the 22Kill.com site - which is a worldwide organization started by veterans. The 22Kill mission is a global movement bridging the gap between veterans and like-minded individuals to build a community of support and understanding. This movement works to raise awareness to the suicide epidemic that is plaguing our country, and educate the public on mental health issues such as PTS.

The Cadet Candidates decided to start a 22 day campaign of Push-Ups to raise awareness of veterans' suicide risk.

For the past 22 business days, C/C’s that have volunteered to do so have participated in the 22 Push-Up Campaign. This past Thursday was their last day with it they challenged the Prep Staff as well as the Prep School Commander Col Szybist to 22 Push-Ups at 0600 Thursday morning. The Prep Staff did not disappoint and many came out to participate in the final day of the C/C's Campaign to bring awareness. Not only did the Preppies and Prep Staff do 22 Push-Ups. Col Szybist added three more; the first for the Preppies future USAFA Class of 2020, the second for the Commander’s USAFA Class of 1991 and the last for the Commanders favorite NHL Hockey Team, the Blackhawks. It was great to see the Prep Staff support and their unyeilding willingness join in the C/C's mission to raise awareness for this organization.
