Pennsylvania State Night
The Pennsylvania Parents Club hosted their Annual Pennsylvania State night and treated the cadets to a taste of home. Food from Western PA, Central PA and Southeastern PA was represented. Western PA treated the cadets to homemade Perogies and Polish sausage (which could be put into a Hoagie), Eat’n Park Smiley cookies and Arnold Palmer's (combination of Iced Tea and Lemonade). Central PA is known for its Whoopie pies, which is a baked product that may be considered either cookie, pie, sandwich or cake. It is made of two round mound-shaped pieces of cake with a sweet, creamy filling or frosting sandwiched between. Southeastern PA brought Hoagies (Turkey and Italian), Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, Soft pretzels, Tasty Cakes and Rita’s water ice. Rita’s Italian Ice is a restaurant chain, based in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, which sells mainly Italian ice, frozen custard, and specialty creations.
Raffled prizes were gifted throughout the evening. There were over 100 gift cards and 25 gifts for the cadets to choose from. Thank you to all the Sponsors for their contribution.
Sponsors: Chic-Fil-A, Overdrive, Magnum, Eat’n, Jacobs, State Farm and Sheetz.
The goal of the PA Parent’s Clubs was to provide Food, Fun, Fellowship and Freebies to the PA cadets here at the Academy. Each cadet was gifted a goodie bag before they left for the evening. Thank you to the 20 parents who volunteered their time and expertise to make the Pennsylvania night a huge success!
