CBRNE stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives. This training is designed to help Basic Cadets as well as all active duty military learn the proper techniques to wearing chemical protective gear such as suits and masks.
This year they will not go through the gas trailer, instead they are learning emergency and tactical training. While they no longer use real tear or pepper gas, the simulation helps the Basics learn how the chemical gear will protect them if they ever experience a CBRN attack. It allows them the chance to feel and exerpience what the gear and mask feels like when worn for an extended amount of time during a tactical situation.
