Airfield Fridays Week 1
Welcome to Airfield Fridays. Every Friday we will be posting footage from the Davis Airfield. Some weeks will be more, some will be lighter. Today we're sharing some soaring!
It has been a wet summer so far here in Colorado, but we've been able to get out and capture some amazing pictures.
Here's some background on the Soaring Program:
Once third-class cadets complete ten accompanied flights, they are eligible to fly their first unaccompanied flight, also known as a solo flight.
Though there were no solo flights today, many cadets expressed an eager excitement to fly their first solo mission. Summer soaring also provides leadership opportunities for the first and second-class cadet Instructor Pilots (IPs) involved in the soaring program.
The soaring program provides character and leadership development and is the first step for many who wish to become future pilots in the Air Force.
