CBRNE stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives. This training is designed to help Basic Cadets as well as all active duty military learn the proper techniques to wearing chemical protective gear such as suits and masks. The training teaches basic threat knowledge and proper emergency preparedness skills in the event of real world situations.
While they no longer use real tear or pepper gas, the simulation helps the Basics learn how the chemical gear will protect them if they ever experience a CBRN attack. And it allows them the chance to feel and exeprience what it is like to wear the protective gear and mask for an extended amount of time.
