CST Thursdays Week 2
Week 2 of Cadet Survival Training (CST) continues with Emergency Parachute Principal Training at the airfield and Ropes Course. The purpose of this training is to teach cadets emergency procedures if an ejection or bailout is required while conducting flying duties.
The training took place at the 98th Training Facility. According to the USAFA website, this facility is typically used to train safety and emergency procedures, which enhance student confidence and maximize performance under extremely stressful conditions.
For the ropes course the cadets spent the morning on the ground and afternoon in the Leader Challenge Tower. They participated in problem solving challenges as a team. There are discussions on application of insights to CST program, cadet life, and Airman Leadership throughout.
