Class of 2023 Commissioning Ceremonies
During commissioning, cadets become Second Lieutenants in the United States Air Force or Space Force. This was their final big event before the graduation ceremony on Thursday. Friends and families gathered celebrate the newly commissioned Second Lieutenants. Commissioning is a truly emotional event, with tears and laughter from everyone in attendance.

During Squadron 16's commissioning, Steele Gibson, a younger brother of a cadet, missed his kindergarten graduation for his big sister's commissioning. Gen. Clark recognized him, presented him with the Superintendent's challenge coin and commissioned him into the 1st grade. He also read what his teacher said about him and recited his poem about leaving kindergarten.
