Soaring Summer Session 2
Soaring Summer Session 2 has begun for the Class of 2025. The beautiful weather provided ample opportunity for the upcoming third-class cadets to take to the skies.
Once third-class cadets complete ten accompanied flights, they are eligible to fly their first unaccompanied flight, also known as a solo flight.
Though there were no solo flights today, many cadets expressed an eager excitement to fly their first solo mission. Summer soaring also provides leadership opportunities for the first and second-class cadet Instructor Pilots (IPs) involved in the soaring program.
The soaring program provides character and leadership development and is the first step for many who wish to become future pilots in the Air Force.
