Summary Sunday

This is our second to last Summary Sunday blog for 2021's BCT.

This week in our recaps we have highlights of some of the different courses your Basics have had to experience while at Jacks Valley. Can you believe just this past Monday was the March Out?! What a week it has been!

After the Basics marched into Jacks Valley they heard Opening Remarks from Col Price, the Vice Commandant of Cadets.

Below is a clip of the Basics during their March Out, the Vice Commandant's Remarks and the reciting the Airman's Creed.

Tuesday began the Jacks Valley courses, there are 7 in total. The Confidence Course, Obstacle Course, Assault Course, SABC, CBRNE, CATM and LRC. We focused on the major 4 courses - Confidence, Obstacle, Asssault and CBRNE. In the video clips below you will see highlights from the Confidence Course, Obstacle Course and the Assault Course.

Confidence Course

At the Confidence Course the Basics are tested on, well their confidence. Mostly in the form of heights, this course deals with a lot of teamwork and trust in order to get through. The clip below highlights different sections of the Confidence Course.

Obstacle Course

The Obstacle Course has one of our favorite stations which involves a rope and a pool of water. At this station, some Basics get through on their first try where others have to attempt it more than once. Before attempting each station, they are also put through some PT. Below we've caught glimpses of both.

Assault Course

Before going through each of the physical Jacks Valley courses the Basics are taught specific stances or actions they will have to use to get through the course. After they've completed the course, it's time for the water hose where they are finally able to wash off some of the dirt and grime they collected as they went through the course. Prior to going through their second round of the course each Squadron participates in a Puggil Stick Fight where it is Basic against Basic, the Top 2 Female and Top 2 Male Basics of the Squadron then have the opportunity to start off the course first. The winners of each Squadron will be the ones to participate in Big Bad Basic this coming week. In the video below we have highlights of all of this.

In the next coming days we will be getting coverage of a few more Squadrons going through the courses and then it's time for Big Bad Basic!

The pictures from our coverage today will be up tomorrow morning so enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
