Powered Flight Summer Session 2
Powered flight session 2 had the opportunity to fly on Friday before the anticipated afternoon thunderstorms rolled in.
The 557th Flying Training Squadron provides cadets, who are interested in flying, the opportunity to see an operational Air Force flying squadron through the Powered Flight Program. The class is intended to encourage cadets to commit to serving as a rated (flying) officer in the Air Force.
The training includes ground and flight instruction in a T-53 (light, general aviation) aircraft and culminates in the cadet being given the opportunity to solo in the T-53.
